According to Chuck Jones (2019) at Forbes, as of July 10th, 2019, President Trump has racked up at least $105 million in costs by visiting golf courses . According to Jones, this information is based in part on an analysis of a Government Accountability Office (GAO) expenditure report on presidential travel released in January 2019; further, this amount does not include official travel, only golf vacation trips.

Relevant information of note:

• According to Judicial Watch (2017), a conservative group, President Obama’s total travel costs over two full terms was approximately $105 million.
• According to Jones,  the $105 million in golfing costs is approximately three times the cost of the Mueller Investigation ($35 million). Jones points out, however, that the Mueller Investigation technically covered its own costs via forfeiture of Paul Manafort’s assets.
